Kaymer Martin clinches the top spot over the money list: The German ace golfer Martin Kaymer has successfully proved that he is the top golfer of Europe by clinching the number one spot over the money list in the last round of the Dubai
World Championship golf event, which was being held at the Earth golf course in Dubai.
Martin Kaymer is now the youngest European number one golfer and by winning the lucrative World Championship golf event, he has successfully shown that he is one of the best golfers in the world.
Before the tournament it was expected that Martin’s arch rival Graeme McDowell will give the German a very strong challenge to snatch the Europe number one golf rank. But Kaymer proved to be a bit too tough for the Ryder Cup star Graeme McDowell.
Though the Northern Irishman McDowell finished the final days’ play with a satisfactory sixty eight under par but still it was not enough to overtake the Martin Kaymer over the point’s chart of the Dubai World Championship.
After the tournament Martin expressed his thoughts to the media and said that he is feeling very good and proud that he has finally grasped the top rank of Europe. He continued and said that not only him but his family is very happy about the fact as well
and this moment is really precious and special to him.
Kaymer said that the year has been really great for him as he has won a major title this year and he is very delighted about the fact that everything went perfectly well for him according to his plans. He added and said that his last year’s performance gave
him an inspiration that he can win the Dubai golf tournament and he is very proud of the fact that he has done it in a glorious way.
The twenty-five year old added that he was not expecting such a success but he is feeling very lucky that he has finally clinched the top spot of European golf.
The tournament was won by the Swedish veteran golfer Robert Karlsson who was strongly challenged by his thirty-four year old English arch rival Ian Poulter. The Briton Poulter made a mistake in the very crucial stage of the final round when he aimed for
a birdie and his ball dropped over his marker. As a result he was punished and which opened a window of opportunity for Karlsson to clinch the marvelous victory.
After the day’s play Ian Poulter seemed pretty upset with the matter and told the media that he is not very satisfied with the way it has happened as he got unlucky. He added and told that the if the ball should have dropped over the marker and did not moved
he would not have been penalized but he just got unlucky.
Despite of losing the competition from the forty-one year old Swedish veteran Robert Karlsson; the performance of the Englishman Poulter is being admired as he has successfully improved his international ranking to the world number eight rank.
While talking about the matter the Ian expressed himself by saying that he is happy that he has performed satisfactorily well and has improved his ranking to the world number eight but he was aiming to win the trophy. He continued and said that his mistake
in the final round of the tournament was really devastating for him as the victory in the tournament could have earned him a lot of money.
On the other hand the winner of the Dubai World Championship Robert Karlsson is off the view that he got lucky in the final round of the tournament. Karlsson said that Ian gave him a very strong challenge as he is one of the best golfers around.
Karlsson said that he is delighted that Poulter dropped the ball on the marker and gave an easy chance to him to clinch the victory of the tournament.
