Kaymer and Westwood; top contenders for the world’s top golf rank

The chances of being the world number one for the German veteran golfer Martin Kaymer are very bright. The twenty five year old German can usurp the world number one rank from the thirty four year old American legendry golfer Tiger Woods by winning
the Andalucia Masters golf tournament, which will be held at Valderrama.
The German will grab the world number one ranking for the first time in his remarkable career if he wins this week’s Andalucia Masters or finishes as joint second. Tiger Woods dominance over the golf ranking is about to end, by hook or by crook because he
is out of action this week and Martin Kaymer or the Englishman Lee Westwood are top contenders for the number one rank.
Tiger has conquered the golf courses of the world pretty brilliantly throughout his remarkable career but his two hundred and eighty one week reign is about to end.
Now the competition is between the German twenty five year old veteran and the English ace golfer Lee Westwood. It is reported that if Kaymer will not win in Spain then Lee Westwood will become the world number one rank holder.
In a very recent interview the German veteran expressed his thoughts and views in a very confident way. Kaymer admired the game of his arch rival Lee Westwood and said that currently Lee is the best player around and his capacity cannot be challenged. Kaymer
and Lee had also participated in the Ryder Cup and both are aware of each other’s positive and negative aspects.
Lee is currently suffering from a calf injury though. When talking about the matter Martin said that Lee had been suffering from injuries but if he had not had those issues then he would certainly be at the top spot by now.
Kaymer told the media about his game plan and said that he has been playing pretty well for the last two years and is very confident about keeping the winning streak alive. He added that he and Lee Westwood have played very well and who is going to be the
next world number one is still very hard to answer.
If Martin Kaymer will become the world number one then he would be the second German in the history of golfing who has grasped the world’s top spot after Bernhard Langer in 1986.
The current year has been a brilliant year for Kaymer because he has been able to play to his fullest by winning the United States Professional Golfers Association Championship and four other golfing events.
When talking about this fact, the twenty five year old said that this year has been dramatically great for him as everything went according to his plan. He added that he has been performing well for the last two or three years and so far, is feeling fantastic
about it.
The German has a chance of becoming the new world number one but according to him, being the world’s best is not his main priority now. While talking to the media the German ace said that right now he was concentrating more on his game and his main target
was to grasp a good spot in the race to the Dubai golf tournament’s trophy. He added that topping the world ranking is a dream for him as well but right now his main focus is to improve his game a bit more.
On the other hand, the English top golfer and Ryder Cup star Lee Westwood has side lined himself from the list of players who are going to participate at Valderrama because of his calf injury. But his return to the golf course is surely awaited.
