Kazuki Watanabe claims Boys 100m breaststroke gold – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Kazuki Watanabe of Itoman claimed gold medal of the Boys 100m breaststroke on day two of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Saturday, September 22.
Watanabe spoiled the party of his challengers in the 100m discipline as he made his way to the finishing end for gold medal. With his quickest response to the start, Watanabe gained a slight lead over his rivals and occupied the podium for gold medal.
With his persistent efforts in the double lap discipline, Watanabe remained full body length faster from his following swimmer and touched the wall for gold medal with a timing of 1 minute and 02.88 seconds.
Watanabe was followed by his teammate, Yuta Tsukamoto, who stayed 0.72 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing end as second position holder by reporting a time of 1 minute and 03.60 seconds.
Tsukamoto was followed by Kosuke Ishii of Itoman, who stayed almost one second behind and secured bronze medal of the race by producing a time of 1 minute and 04.54 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Matthew D Whittle of NCSA, who was almost four body lengths behind and settled on the wall as fourth best finisher by reporting a time of 1 minute and 08.21 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was obtained by s**+ Wong of NCSA, who remained 0.32 seconds apart and occupied fifth position of the race by producing a time of 1 minute and 08.53 seconds.
Wong was chased by Brandon C Fiala of NCSA, who remained nearly 0.80 seconds behind and tapped the wall for sixth place with an effort of 1 minute and 09.35 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Arnold B Luk of NCSA, who was 1.26 seconds behind and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 10.61 seconds.
Koheim Fukazawa of Itoman, who entered the final as fourth fastest swimmer, was disqualified from the race and failed to mark any position.
In addition, Watanabe expressed happiness over his victory and raked medal for his alluring effort after the event.
