Kazuki Watanabe secures Boys 200m breaststroke title – 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet
Kazuki Watanabe of Itoman secured gold medal of the Boys 200m breaststroke on final day of the 2012 NCSA/Itoman Allstar Meet at the Golden West Swim Club in Golden West College on Sunday, September 23.
Watanabe demonstrated his noteworthy efforts in the playoff of the 200m discipline and remained comfortably ahead of his opponents for the title.
His commendable pace remained 5.03 seconds ahead of his closest challenger as he rushed his way towards the wall for gold medal by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 13.62 seconds.
The champion was chased by Yuta Tsukamoto of Itoman, who stayed nearly 8 metres away from his former finisher and surfaced on wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 18.65 seconds.
Tsukamoto was followed by Kosuke Ishii of Itoman, who stayed 0.50 seconds away from upsetting his preceding swimmer and stepped on the victory stand for silver medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 19.15 seconds.
Ishii was chased by s**+ Wong of NCSA, who stayed almost nine seconds away from overpowering his foregoing finisher and settled on the wall for fourth finest spot with a timing of 2 minutes and 28.31 seconds.
Fifth position of the race was obtained by Matthew D Whittle of NCSA, who stayed two body lengths behind and completed his race by reporting an effort of 2 minutes and 30.31 seconds.
Whittle remained 3.11 seconds faster from Brandon C Fiala of NCSA, who remained prominent for sixth position of the discipline by touching the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 33.42 seconds.
Subsequently, Fiala enjoyed a lead of almost four body lengths over his following swimmer, Grant R Proctor of NCSA, who failed to make any improvement in his time. Proctor’s effort was 0.04 seconds slower than his qualification time and secured seventh place
with an effort of 2 minutes and 37.18 seconds.
Koheim Fukazawa of Itoman was charged with the disqualification in the playoff due to a false start and was unable to grab any position.
In addition, Watanabe was pleased with his victory and collected medal after the event.
