Kazuya Kaneda wins Men’s 200m butterfly title – 2012 FINA Swimming World Cup, Moscow
Kazuya Kaneda of Japan won gold medal of the Men’s 200m butterfly on first day of the 2012 FINA/ARENA Swimming World Cup in Moscow, Russia on Wednesday, October 17.
The Japanese swimmer demonstrated his astonishing efforts in the distant butterfly discipline as he overpowered his competitors over the finishing blockade for gold medal. With his unrelenting efforts in the eight-lap race, Kaneda managed to out-touch his
closest competitor over the wall.
Kaneda was only a touch ahead of his following swimmer and emerged on the finishing end for gold medal by producing a nice effort of 1 minute and 52.43 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Daiya Seto of Japan, who stayed 0.06 seconds slower and surfaced on the wall for gold medal with a timing of 1 minute and 52.49 seconds.
Seto was traced by Nikolay Skvortsov of Russia, who was 0.14 seconds apart and occupied bronze medal of the event by submitting an effort of 1 minute and 52.63 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Mauricio Fiol Villanueva, who stayed nearly one body length behind and transpired on the finishing blockade by reporting a time of 1 minute and 53.47 seconds.
Subsequently, Villanueva was trailed by Evgeny Iskakov of Russia, who stayed almost 4.50 seconds behind and emerged on the finishing end as fifth best finisher with a timing of 1 minute and 57.96 seconds.
Iskakov remained 0.30 seconds ahead of Henrique Rodrigues of Brazil, who remained prominent for sixth position of the event by reporting a time of 1 minute and 58.26 seconds.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Roman Mikhaylov of Russia, who was 0.49 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing end with the timing of 1 minute and 58.75 seconds.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Ilya Lemaev of Russia, who was nearly one and a half body length behind and touched the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 00.04 seconds.
In addition, Kaneda was happy with his top finish in the event and collected medal for his notable form after the session.
