Question:

Kblade 98 or Pure Drive Standard?

I am a 4.0 or roughly 4.5 level player who likes to play around the baseline and feel that it is time for a change. My present racquet Wilson Triad T6 is much too light (257 grams) and the small headsize(95'') forms an obstacle with the small sweet spot. Babolat Pure Drive seems a viable option with its accesibility to spin but I am quite discontented with the feel of the racquet. Although I am content with Kblade's touch, I feel as if it may not help me any with the power issue I have with my present racquet.

Help me out, which one would be a better choice? My first aim in purchasing this racquet will be developing my game but I also want a stick that will respond to my needs for the near future

  1. Pure Drive Standard = Stiff, board-like, and too powerful

kBlade = nice feel, okay power, less spin

I think you should go check out more rackets. The RDS001 MP and RDS002 Tour might be good for you. They're both Yonex and are quality Japanese rackets. These two rackets have nice feel, good spin, and decent power (not too much or too little).

  2. I own both of these rackets, but i lean more toward to the kblade 98 because it suits my game better. Both rackets are great, but i feel that the kblade has better touch and is more of an all around racket. The Pure drive has more power and can produce more spin, so I think it's a bit easier to play with then the kblade 98, which has a smaller headsize and is more of a control racket. But if you can generate your own power while using the kblade, then it is one h**l of a racket. Because you are between a 4.0-4.5, the Kblade should be a perfect match to your game because it is a great players racket
