Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 boss, Steve Kean believes that his side will have the advantage against Liverpool in their Premier League match next week, as the Reds are likely to be distracted by their FA Cup campaign.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 will visit Ewood Park on Tuesday, after playing Aston Villa at home over the weekend. Kenny Dalglish’s side are going through a lean patch currently, having lost six of their last seven league games. However, the Reds have been impressive in the
English domestic cups this season, having already won the Carling Cup and will square off against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 in the semi-final of the FA Cup.
The Blackburn boss thinks that the Reds have got ‘one eye’ on the FA Cup, and mentioned that his side will look to capitalize on the Merseyside team’s obsession of winning the cup.
"They will certainly have one eye on the cup competition," he told Sky Sports. “We are going to try and use that to our advantage."
Kean took over Blackburn in December 2010 and his contract is set to expire in June 2013.
The Rovers have played 59 games under his management, winning just 16 and losing on 29 occasions. As a manager, his win percentage record is a paltry 27.12%.
Currently, the Lancashire side are placed 18th in the league table and are fighting out of a possible relegation threat.
However, the Reds also do not have much to boost about in the league this season. The Merseyside team have only managed two wins in 2012 so far, and their lone away win during this period came against Wolverhampton Wanderers, way back in January.
Despite the Reds dismal form of late, the Blackburn boss was wary of the fact that they will be a difficult side to beat, pointing out that Liverpool have got some quality players in their dugout.
"They have got quality players, no matter who they play, so it will be a tough game for us," he said.
Kean urged his side to draw confidence from their relatively better home record, where they have secured 5 wins of their seven matches. On Monday, the Rovers went down 2-0 against Manchester United at Ewood Park, but gave the league leaders a tough run for
the money.
“At home we have been performing well and I think both of these games that are coming up have come at a good time for us."
The manager cautioned his side that the Reds are likely to come out hard, as they have got a point to prove. He also pointed out that the Reds have been specifically threatening in the opening stages of the game.
“Any game that I have seen them in, they have always started very well.”
