Kecheng Wang wins Men’s 1500m freestyle gold – FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup
Kecheng Wang of China won gold medal of the Men’s 1500m freestyle on second day of the 2012 FINA/ARENA Swimming World Cup in Doha, Qatar on Sunday, October 7.
The Chinese swimmer demonstrated his astonishing efforts in the sixty-lap freestyle discipline and made his way to the finishing end for gold medal.
With his astonishing pace in the distant freestyle discipline, Wang enjoyed a comfortable lead over his following swimmer and proved his mettle for gold medal.
He remained nearly five body lengths ahead of his closest competitor and ensured his place on top of the medal rostrum for gold medal by producing a time of 14 minutes and 43.83 seconds.
Wang was traced by Daiya Seto of Japan, who was 5.14 seconds apart and surfaced on the wall for second position by producing an effort of 14 minutes and 48.97 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Gergo Kis of Hungary, who stayed nearly 12 metres slower from his foregoing finisher and transpired on the finishing blockade for bronze medal by submitting a time of 14 minutes and 56.57 seconds.
Fourth best spot of the race was obtained by Sergii Frolov of Ukraine, who stayed 2.33 seconds behind and settled on the wall with the timing of 14 minutes and 58.90 seconds.
Frolov was followed by Filip Zaborowski of Poland, who remained 1.05 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and emerged on the finishing end for fifth place by clocking a time of 14 minutes and 59.95 seconds.
Sixth spot of the race was secured by Weijia Liu of China, who stayed considerably slower from his preceding swimmer and surfaced on the wall with an effort of 15 minutes and 04.84 seconds.
Liu was trailed by Sheng Jun Pang of Singapore, who was unable to give tough time to any of his competitors and finished last in the race. Pang remained nearly 27 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with a timing of 15 minutes and 31.82 seconds.
In addition, Wang was delighted with his title claiming effort in the race and raked medal after the session.
