Kedah Open: Kisona A/P Selvaduray beats Ester Leevenia Samin in first round battle – Badminton news
Malaysia’s emerging player, Kisona A/P Selvaduray displayed her impressive skills and outwitted her compatriot Ester Leevenia Samin in Girl’s Singles D2 category at the 1st leg of Maybank National Circuit Kedah Open 2013 in Malaysia, on Thursday, May 30.
The second seeded Kisona, who is considered one of the most hardworking players in the younger lot, showed incredible control over the pace of her rallies and finished the match in just 21 minutes.
Kisona was quite comfortable in executing her powerful smashes in all areas of the court. She played complete game and won the second round contest in straight sets with a one-sided 21-9 and 21-12 score on the board.
On the contrary, the un-seeded Ester Leevenia was shocked with the incredible play of her challenger. She tried to put up strong resistance but failed to stop the aggression of Kisona and lost the battle without even getting close.
Kisona showed a wonderful aggression in the arena from the initial points of first set by building a huge pressure on her opponent.
The hard-to-learn variations in Kisona’s shots helped her to stay in commanding position and she maintained the pace of rallies at the highest level.
It was Kisona who did not show any respect to her spirited challenger in the starting half and took a tremendous lead in the arena.
The aggressive Kisona remained comfortable in the arena after the mid-game interval as she played with the same aggressive approach.
Kisona did not reduce the pace of the game at any stage and comfortably grabbed the first set with a completely lopsided 21-9 margin on the board.
Things were almost similar in the second game when Kisona played in the similar aggressive fashion and she easily set up an early lead.
Kisona was in incredible control of the game and she remained successful in establishing a comfortable gap until the end of first half.
Ester Leevenia failed to show strong performance in the second game of this fight as her opponent Kisona played better game and secured the set with a stunning 21-12 margin on the board.
