Keegan Bradley's swing
Keegan Bradley has been the next big thing in golf when it comes to his style and swing. After Tiger Woods, we did not see a single golfer swinging the golf club as smoothly and perfectly as Keegan Bradley.
At the 2011 PGA Championship, we saw a new champion in the making. Keegan Bradley dazzled the field and won his first major.
His success story has been his golf swing. It is as smooth and perfect as one would expect it to be. Nobody hits the golf balls better than him on the tour, his swing is smooth yet his drives are farthest and accurate.
Keegan’s built may not be perfect but he swings his clubs perfectly. Keegan has worked with different coaches throughout his career and during his time as an amateur, one of his coaches was Jim McLean.
"He has this innate sense of how to be alive on his feet," McLean says. "Even when we were incorporating new changes, he never stopped swinging like he was popping out of a starting gate".
Almost every golfer has a similar swing style but a few minor adjustments can lead to the perfection of the swing.
One important fact that should be kept in mind is that these adjustments should be done in the early days of the players’ career. This is because when a golfer turns pro, it is extremely difficult for him to adjust his swing.
"He has that certain recklessness necessary for a great swing," says his coach, Jim McLean. "He's totally fearless, and it's a joy to watch".
Apart from the gym and regular routine that Bradley does, one interesting thing was that Keegan underwent a hypnosis session at St. John's University focusing on his swing.
"I focus on my facial muscles. When you can get your mouth to relax, your whole body relaxes," Bradley says.
Keegan’s transition from back swing to fore swing is just about flawless and his weight shifting from back leg to front is absolutely amazing.
His head moves a little while is performing his back swing. However, it is all but natural considering the fact that he hits the golf ball an extra mile.
