Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson take leading positions at Northern Trust Open
As the star-studded event of Northern Trust Open reaches its conclusion at Pacific Palisades, Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley were happy to see their names in the leading positions in the event.
With both golfers teeing it off in the final round, both golfers had a one-shot lead at Riviera.
"This was a great round for me because I did not play well," Mickelson said. "And I shot one-under par and I'm atop the leaderboard".
It is important to mention here that it was last week when Mickelson grabbed the Pebble Beach victory and he is ready to add another one to his bag.
The two-time winner at Riviera was able to secure his position with the help of just two birdies. This was followed with a bogey as well but overall, Mickelson seemed overwhelmingly satisfied with the performance he delivered.
Commenting on the nature of the shots he played, Mickelson said, "The one thing I did is that on all those misses, I missed it on the side I had to miss it on".
He continued, "I was able to miss it on the correct side that allowed me to always have a chance at making par".
The 41-year-old golfer is making use of all his skills and potential to make sure that his performance does not get affected, especially at this crucial moment of the event.
On the other hand, Bradley, who has earlier been under the guidance of Mickelson, was able to cement his position at 66 with the help of a nine-footer at the 18th green.
He was under Mickelson’s supervision at the 2011 Houston Open event. According to Bradley, he is really looking forward to some good shots when playing against Phil.
He further added that he is enjoying the atmosphere and the feel of the golf course which is helping him greatly in scoring well. "I enjoy the atmosphere and everything playing with Phil".
Experts have placed their votes on both golfers, as both of them have the necessary skills to knock the other out. However Phil Mickelson, because of his seniority, is the hot favourite contender at the event.
