Keegan Bradley in contention at World Golf Challenge
It seems that Keegan Bradley is the only one playing some consistent golf. The world number fifteen shot a second consecutive round of 69 at the Sherwood Golf and Country Club.
Although Keegan carded only three birdies, the positive thing was that he shot a bogey free round. Bradley was steady with his performance. He opened up with a par and followed it up with a birdie on the second.
The drizzle was causing problems for everybody on the field but Keegan controlled the ball magnificently. Although he could not shoot birdies, he kept ensuring that errors do not hamper his game by carding pars.
Bradley shifted his gear on the back nine as he carded two birdies to take his score to three-under for the day.
Moreover, the American must have been encouraged by this round due to the fact that, firstly, he shot a bogey free round and, secondly, he ended up with a birdie on the eighteenth.
This is a very decent performance by Bradley, considering the fact that the issue of belly putters is in the news these days. USGA has formally announced that rules are being amended to ban the use of anchoring from golf.
This is a major headache for the players who use long putters, as now they will have to adjust to some new putting style.
At first, Keegan and Ernie Els hinted of taking a legal action against this ban but deep inside they know that they have a weak case against it.
Nevertheless, so far he has been on spot in this tournament and the only way through which he can silence his critics is by winning the trophy.
The tournament is nicely poised for Bradley, as he is only three strokes behind the leader, Graeme McDowell. Another round in the 60s would mean that Bradley will be a strong contender for the title on Sunday.
Bradley is currently tied on the second spot with Bo Van Pelt, and Jim Furyk.
Furyk is another man who is playing consistent golf at the Sherwood Golf and Country Club. The way top players are playing, an interesting Sunday looms ahead of us.
