Keegan Bradley ready to shatter the Deutsche Bank Championship field
The 2011 PGA Champion Keegan Bradley is set to make his second start in the Deutsche Bank Championship – the second leg of the US PGA Tour Playoffs – scheduled to start from Friday, August 31, 2012.
Bradley, who is also playing his second year on the tour, is enjoying his career’s upswing this year too. He recorded five top-10 finishes, including his third PGA Tour win at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational.
The American’s precocious talent did not go unnoticed when he finished tied third in a bid to defend his title at the PGA Championship.
Last week, however, he failed to make the cut at the Playoffs’ curtain raiser, The Barclays, after posting rounds of 71 and 73.
This week, he is confident to bounce back strongly at TPC Boston and improve his FedEx Cup ranking. He currently holds the 13th spot in the standings.
“It's great to be back in Boston,” the three-time PGA Tour winner said. “Really having a great time. The course is in great shape, as usual, and I think that this time around, I'm going to really enjoy playing out here in front of these fans and at this
golf course”.
Bradley also hosted a fundraising event on Monday, in order to help the victims of Hurricane Irene, in the state of Vermont.
Last year, the disastrous flood affected the lives of local people to a great extent. Therefore, Bradley decided to make his share in the development of the affected areas.
According to him, he raised about $100,000 through the one-day event. All the funds were then donated to the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund.
“I hosted a tournament in my hometown of Woodstock, Vermont, for the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund,” he said. “We raised over $100,000 for Vermont for the flood relief after Hurricane Irene a year ago. There was actually pretty serious damage up there, and
this was a great cause for these people in the State of Vermont”.
Despite having a tight schedule in the last one week – playing both The Barclays and the fundraising event – Bradley is listed among the favourites to win the Deutsche Bank Championship this week.
