Keegan Bradley working hard in preparation for the Masters Tournament – Golf News
Keegan Bradley is heading to the Masters Tournament for the first time in his career with an aim to stun his opponents at the Augusta National from April 5 to 8, 2012.
Bradley did the same when he surprisingly won the PGA Championship in his very first appearance to earn his first major title of the career.
This year, he is again working hard to prepare for the Masters. He is scheduled to play the upcoming Shell Houston Open.
The Shell Houston Open is the final PGA Tour event prior to the first major event of the golf season.
Therefore, Bradley will be having a final chance to tune-up his game and make proper improvements as per the requirements of Augusta National.
"I'm going to put a lot of time in (preparing for the Masters)," said Bradley. "I'm trying my best to play well (at Augusta) my first year".
Fuzzy Zoeller is the only player in the history to record a win at his first appearance, he wore the green jacket in 1979.
Bradley wants to become the second and for this purpose, he visited the venue of the Masters with Phil Mickelson, two weeks ago.
He is currently practicing with Mickelson and spending considerable time with his new friend. Recently, he was given an old Augusta yardage book by Mickelson’s caddie, Bones Mackay.
"There's not a better person to go up to Augusta with than Phil," said Bradley, who was selected as the 2011 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year after winning twice.
"I seem to go play with Phil and he gives me a good beating, and I play really well the week after. It seems to work out".
" … Watching Phil, I'm amazed. It's even annoying, but I'm amazed at how often he can get it up-and-down," he added.
Furthermore, he met the legendary Jack Nicklaus to get detailed information about the Augusta National Golf Club and the challenge it offers to the players.
Nicklaus won record 18 major titles during his career among which, six came in the Masters Tournament.
Therefore, a few words of advice from him can really change the scenario for Bradley and he may actually earn his first Masters’ victory in his maiden appearance.
