SPiders are good, but we have way too many. Cobwebs everywhere outside on the house. How do we keep them away from the outside of the house?

  1. What sort of house do you have?  Siding?  Brick?

This is a three step process:

One:  Use a broom to take down the webs and egg sacs.

Two:  Pressure wash the spiders away.  Hit them directly, under the siding, in the cracks of the brick, up in the corners of the roof, etc.

Three:  Try that vinegar that someone mentioned, but spray it with a hand sprayer.  You can get a good one a Lowes or Home Depot for not much money, and it is useful for lots of things.  Fill 'er up with vinegar and cover the walls completely.  If you don't want to use vinegar, then you can get some sort of pesticide concentrate and use it in the sprayer.  Read the directions carefully and mix it properly.

Repeat step three about once a month in the spring and summer.

  2. My daughter asked the Orkin guy and he said to use white vinegar.  He did not say to dilute it.  I would say to use a cloth and wipe where you think the spiders maybe crawling around.  Hope this has helped..  If you are like me you don't like to use a lot a pesticides especially if you have pets, so even if the vinegar smells I think I would opt for it....
