Keep getting prank calls?

Question

I get a call this morning by someone asking for some bank details. I said go away hang up, I heard laughing on the phone, they ring again and I hang up again, then the phone rings a third time.

What can I do I'm in the UK

well if you have caller id.. u could report them? if u don't... n it keeps happening.. guess u might want to think about changing your number..

Similar thing happened to me at like 2am in the morning previously but it stopped after awhile. Now I get calls from china... person speaking in manadarin.. i just pretend not to understand n they give up..

Alternately... u could start screaming at them in a foreign language if u happen to know any... u will either scare the c**p out of them or end up making their day if they are calling just to get a reaction...

You Could Phone Back By Dialling 147 Then Dial The Number Which Was Phoning You Then Talk To Them And Say Who You Are But The Huge Thing About Dialling 147 Is That Your Number Will Not Go To The Person Your Phoning

Sign up with TPS (Telephone Preference Service) it will stop any marketing calls to you! I joined 3 years ago and the only people ever on the end of my phone are people who I willingly give my number too!!!!!

Answer the phone and say, can you hang on a minute, I'll just get my bank details then leave them hanging on the phone, they're paying for the call!

Or get caller ID and don't answer any calls from that number or any withheld numbers

Or get a whistle and blow it down the phone the next time they call

Or tell them to eff off

Have you tried dialling 1471. If you have no luck report the calls to your landline provider. Its Technically fraud and they are obliged to do something about it. Someone could get into alot of trouble over this. I think its classed as obtaining personnal details by deception and carries a high penalty

get a block were no 1 can call you with a withheld number then they cant call you can they

The TPS wont help as the person has your number - phone your telephone supplier and get a lock put on your phone so people cant get through if they withhold the number.

You with BT??   Give them a ring and ask to get your number changed and explain why, Its free

And then play it whenever the prank caller rings and then they'll think it's the wrong number or it has been disconnected!

Or put it on your answering machine, that would be hilarious :P
