Keep my skateboard safe at the beach?

i go to the beach a lot and i ride my skateboard to the bus stop that takes us to the beach. usually i just stick it in the sand next to the pier. recently, while my friends and i were in the water, my skateboard got stolen. anyone have any ideas on how to keep my skateboard safe? i go to manhattan beach if that helps any...

just a bike lock and wrap it around the trucks to the pier

Hmmm, here are some tips:

Try burying it!Just remember where it is!

Hide it under your towel, if you have one

Look around for  dark places where nobody goes

I don't know if there is a pier, but if there is, put it somewhere under it

These are only some suggestions, I usually hide my bike sometimes, so I know how to find a good hiding place.
