I want to mail some Rice Krispie Treats to my husband (out of state training) because they're his favorite, but I want to try and keep them soft and gooey during the 3 or 4 day mail trip.

Any suggestions?

  1. WRAP TIGHTLY IN PLASTIC WRAP, AND TRY TO  MAKE THE TREATS ON TINY BIT ON THE MOIST SIDE, MAYBE SOME CHOCOLATE, BUT THAT MAY NOT BE A GOOD IDEA ON A HOT SUMMER DAY.HOW ABOUT SOME RAISIINS, OR DRIED CRANBERRIES, OR DRIED FRUIT.

  2. get thost bags for meet.i keeps it fresh.or get the wrap.that you use to give or get left overs to bring home.also make sur you use more than one thing.

  3. Add a few more marshmallows to your recipe. Simple.

  4. I agree with the pieces of white bread in the container!

  5. I send Rice Krispie treats and cookies all the time to my son who is in the Marine Corps and stationed in California -- I am in Boston -- and what I do is first wrap them well in plastic wrap and then seal in Ziploc bags with all the air squeezed out.  I then package them in a metal cookie container - the kind you get usually at Christmas time - then put that in a box and fill in with unbuttered popcorn.  All this helps to keep them fresh and prevents crushing and crumbling.  He also gets to eat the popcorn if he likes and it is cheaper than packaging peanuts.

  6. pack them with a piece or 2 of white bread.  The same way you would if you send cookies that you want to stay soft.
