Keeping a Chinchilla and a rat in the same cage?

Would that be a bad idea and why?

That could be very bad. They would probably fight all the time and may even result in death. The best thing to do is get two cages or one pet.

Yes. They have completely different dietary needs and it would not allow them to be fed healthy diets. They have different needs for housing and use different toys, hideys, etc. They would fight, and they could both SERIOUSLY injure each other. It could easily result in the the death of one of the animals.

Sounds bad.  The rat could hurt the chinchilla and I dont hink they eat the same food.  It would be bad if the chinchilla ate the rat food and vise versa.  I really wouldnt.
