Question:

Keeping my black furniture dusted and without finger prints for at least a week...

I have a black Ashley bedroom set and it's extremely hard to keep looking clean. It collects so much dust that I usually have to dust it daily. Plus finger prints are very visible on the type of wood. Are there any products out there recommended for repelling dust for at least a few days or maybe even a week?

  1. Microfiber cloths (available at bed & bath shops, some grocery stores) work very well...just remember after washing them NOT to use a dryer sheet in dryer as it opens the fibers, thus lessening the cloths use.  This type of cloth easily removes fingerprints, but won't stop them from appearing on the wood.  Also, if start using these and like them, remember to give your wood a good polish once a month.

  2. bad luck.  you might try those dusting spray products but those might just help pick up the dust, not repel it.  focus on air filters and such.

  3. PLEDGE... Has a formula that traps dust.. Also, using a microfiber cloth... That's the breaks with black furniture... Dusting.. You also might want to consider checking, cleaning your furnace and AC filters..

    Good luck
