Kefalonia in October?

Question

Has anyone been to Kefalonia in Greece in the first 2 weeks of October? If so what was the weather like? Have to go on hol first 2 weeks of October due to work timetable but want to go somewhere hot where I can relax by pool but also walk around and go to nice restaurants. Confused tho as some travel agents say Greece is cold in October but others say it is hot?! Please help.

I'm sure I've been to Kefalonia in October before..well my mum and dad have for definite and from what I remember the weather was warm. Obviously it isn't going to be as hot as it is in July/August, but it's still hot enough. The sea will still be warm as it has heated up all through summer. There may be the risk of the odd storm/shower. What resort are you going to? If you are going to Lassi, there isn't loads of nightlife, I got very bored.

generally most of the holiday season in greece is over by the end of september as the temperature is a lot colder in october.

kefalonia will have virtually closed down in october and is quiet far north so will be a bit nippy.

  however its obviously warmer than here so you will still enjoy yourself as long as you dont expect to be sunbathing on the beach.

    if you want somewhere hot in october try cyprus or canary isles.

You should get warm weather (especially compared to the UK!), but be prepared for some rainy or cloudy times. Some sunbathing should be possible, but with the temperatures not so overbearing it makes it much more pleasant for getting out & about to see any sights. To pick the best resort for you see which tour operators are still going there in October, if there are a few there will be more places open. Places only close down earlier than the end of October if there are no tourists to serve!

Evenings will definitely have cooled off by then, so make sure you have a jacket/sweatshirt/fleece, especially if you want to dine near the sea where it can be a very cool breeze.

Kefalonia in October is not cold or hot. It's medium for us but if you come from a rather cold country you will find the island hot.
