Sporting Kansas City might have lost Designated Player, Omar Bravo, to an injury, but manager Peter Vermes is least bothered about it. The coach has top guns like Kei Kamara, Teal Bunbury and CJ Sapong in the roster to replace the Mexican experience in the
upcoming Major League Soccer tie; Kansas City are set to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Columbus-Crew-c38850 at Columbus Crew Stadium on Saturday, April 16.
“It definitely helps to know that you have weapons that you can replace with another weapon,” Vermes said. Even though the international signing has made a strong impact owing much to his brisk presence in the field, the player is still superseded by Bunbury
when it comes down to goals. In spite of Bunbury starting a solitary match, he has netted three goals compared to Bravo’s two, while also adding an assist.
Accompanying Bunbury in the field would be Kamara and Sapong with one goal apiece. The trio’s presence in the field would be as dangerous as Bravo’s has been in the previous games. In addition to being tactically strong, the aforementioned players have dominating
physiques. Kamara stands tall at 6-foot-3 while both Bunbury and Sapong are strong athletes at 6-foot-2, and make their presence known in the opponent’s half. Although the MLS defenders are used to physical challenges, the trio combined can work to great effect.
Bravo is expected to return to the field in six weeks time, missing at least six matches as he recovers from a sports Hernia injury that he suffered on international duty. There is no arguing over the fact that his services would be missed, but the team
has to move and play without their star ace. Furthermore, the three aforementioned players in excellent form and they would ensure the goals in Bravo’s absence.
“There’s no pressure, you know,” Kamara said. “C.J. has played basically every game this year so far, and he’s done well. Omar missed the last game too, and the front three – me, C.J. and Teal – did good work. We’re going to miss [Omar], but at the same
time, everybody looks for opportunities to do well.”
However, Sapong does not share Kamara’s optimism. According to the player, they are dependent on each other. Like a well-oiled machine, failure of one component brings down the entire unit. Though, Vermes has rarely seen that happen in the past. The trio
played together in the last match and the result was a positive one; the team scored three first-half goals against Vancouver Whitecaps at Empire Field.
The opponents for Saturday are a force to reckon with at home. The team has experience on its side with the likes of Andres Mendoza and skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chad-Marshall-c8746. Even though the team has found life tough in the early goings, occupying fifth spot in the Eastern
conference and 9th overall, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Warzycha is famous for turning the tables and the team certainly has the capability of challenging the opposition defence.
