The CSKA Moscow striker was certain about a move to Serie A, and flattered to be linked with Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain

CSKA Moscow midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775, in the January transfer window.
The Japanese international was heavily linked with a move to Stadio Olimpico Rome, and it looked almost inevitable that he will join the capital club in winter. The Biancazzurri also offloaded Djibril Cisse in anticipation of the
move, but the Russian side rejected their bid. They submitted a renewed bid in the region of 14 million Euros, but it was also turned down by the Red-Blue.
Honda has revealed that he strongly believed that he would complete his move to Serie A, but unfortunately things did not go as planned. The 25-year-old insists that a failed move will not have an impact on his performances, and
he will continue to give his best for the Russian side.
Honda’s contract with CSKA is set to expire at the end of the next season, and the player is still unsure over an extension. The attacking midfielder is flattered to be linked with few of the top clubs in the world including Manchester
City and Paris Saint Germain, but insists that it will not change his position at Arena Khimki.
While talking to the Japanese media, Keisuke Honda revealed,
“I was waiting for a better future during this transfer session and hoped to the end that I’d arrive in Serie A. I now have only CSKA in my mind, but my contract is set to expire and I am honoured that my name has been linked with
the likes of PSG or Manchester City. My objectives have not changed and I have no intention of changing them.”
After failing in the move for Honda, the Biancazzurri tried their luck with a bid for Villarreal’s, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nilmar-c28044, in the last hour of the transfer window. However, the Spanish side also turned down their offer, leaving Lazio with only
two experienced strikers for the remainder of the 2011/12 campaign. Miroslav Klose’s recent injury will be a worrying a situation at Rome, as he has been the most prolific player for the club this season.
