Keita insisted that Xavi’s performance with club and country over the past year should be brought under consideration and the player should be acknowledged for his services, which he truly deserves.
The Mali national stressed that the Barca number 6 has had a remarkable career as a footballer and winning the Golden Ball would wonderfully contribute to his legacy as a great athlete.
The footballer admitted that even though it would not make much of a difference for Xavi even if he does not win the Ballon d’Or, he should be named the winner. According to Keita, his former teammate’s accomplishments are enough to have him named among
the best footballers of all time.
Continuing the discussion, the Dalian Aerbin player pointed out that the Spanish international should also be praised for his loyalty to Barca as he has spent his entire career at the Camp Nou.

"Xavi really is an incredible player who has been playing on a very high level for years now. With all the titles he has won, he deserves a Ballon d'Or in my opinion. However, it wouldn't change anything about his career if he doesn't win it this year.”
