Keith Clearwater and the play-off hole fête

Keith Clearwater earned the medalist honours after carding a 63 on Thursday.
According to latest reports, the fifty one year old carded a 9 under at the Champions Tour National Qualifying Tournament held at the TPC Eagle Trace on Thursday while the Fridays round handed him a 72 even par. Clearwater thus
collected a score of 272, which was a 16 under.
Keith Clearwater thus held a three shot front above all other golfers in Coral Springs, Florida and was followed by a number of people fighting for the second spot. The second place thus had the golfers Lee Rinker, Frankie Minoza
and Phil Blackmar carding a 275. The players from Jupiter, Fla, Manila, Philippines and Corpus Christi, Texas ended their game with a thirteen under to finish at the runner up position.
The fifth place was held by John Morse who was reported to be a fully exempt spot. The golfer from Marshall, Michigan reigned in a playoff of three players and attained the first birdie. The opening birdie thus claimed him the
5th place who carded a total of a 276 with a 12 under par at the end.
According to Clearwater, the greatest feeling is when an event ends on a good note. Regarding the last round of the event, he said that the day had been difficult. Clearwater described the weather conditions and said that the wind
made his overall drives and strokes fairly difficult that made approximately five to ten shots more knotty to play than the round before.
The wind thus forced Clearwater to play footers variation in three, four and five. When the game ended however, Clearwater had been nothing but pleased as he made good putts as he kept the right distance and held its consistency.
Having said that, the golfer told that the previous game at the Champions Tour has enabled him to adjust his next year schedule which he is happily looking forward to play.
Clearwater’s consistency has undoubtedly kept him strong throughout the game. The first hole of the event witnessed one bogey from the player that was later covered up by a birdie at the second. As for the rest of the game, his
regularity and stability kept him two strokes above at the leader board.
Clearwater was automatically grabbing one of the 5 exempt spots had he not missed the last par. The tournament witnessed a missed putt at the 18th hole that pushed him to play the playoff with 2 more golfers. Robert
Thompson and Roger Chapman thus played the play off along with Clearwater only to witness a 10 foot birdie fiesta by the winner.
