Question:

Kel Tec PF9 9mm pistol and mis-firing

I have heard of Kel tek PF9 being unreliable and misfiring.

I just bought one and shot about 100 rounds in a row without a misfire.

I have a laser sight and I hit the target dead on almost everytime at distances between 25-100 feet. The distance that this weapon would be most likely be used.

I think so far it's a very reliable and accurate conceal and carry, self protection subcompact pistol.

I think mis-firing I hear about is due to the trigger which is meant to be part of the "safety" aspect of this good gun.

Anyone else have the same experience?

  1. We have two Kel Tecs and have never had a problem with either.  One is a 223 and the other a .22.  The .22 is much cheaper to practice with.  Both are very accurate, but the .223 is louder and kicks more.

  2. There are lots of "gun snobs" in the world that would like to have everyone believe that every pistol not made by Glock or Beretta is unreliable. My son recently purchaced a PF9 and is quite happy with it. It has had box after box of ammo (several different brands) fired through it without incident. He plans to use it as his back-up side arm in his law inforcement duties.
