Kell Brook: Amir Khan has been dropped by super-featherweights – Boxing News
Welterweight fighter Kell Brook believes he can easily knock out former WBA and IBF light welterweight titlist Amir Khan, as the latter has already been knocked out by super-featherweights twice before.
“He's been dropped by super-featherweights. He's been dropped a few times. I'm a big kid. I'm accurate, I've got speed, I've got his number,” said Brook in an interview to Sky Sports when asked what will happen if he faces Khan.
Khan, who recently lost to American unbeaten fighter Danny Garcia via knockout, has lost his credibility among fellow fighters and fans. Another Briton fighter Carl Froch is of the view that Khan’s career is a ‘write-off’ and that he needs to resign. However,
Khan is still positive that he will make a strong comeback and shock all the naysayers out there. Luckily, Khan has British heavyweight David Haye on his side, who believes Khan still has enough time to make a comeback.
When ask what he believes would happen if he meets Khan in the ring, the welterweight fighter claimed, “When we do meet he's going to get taken out. We sparred as amateurs and I schooled him. I've heard him say the same thing but if we could go back to the
coaches who were there they'll tell you exactly what happened.”
Moreover, Kell even took the opportunity to speak about Khan’s possible bout against one of his most admired fighters Floyd Mayweather jr., the current WBC welterweight titlist.
According to Brook, “Khan can't beat Mayweather," he said. "I don't know if it will happen but he can't beat him. He's got no chance.”
For now, Brook believes Khan has easily beatable. To a certain extent, many analysts and fellow fighters would agree with Brook’s statement, as Khan has always suffered knockout losses whenever he has been in the ring with a strong opponent. However, Khan
is of the view that he needs better training to ensure he does not face another knockout loss. Therefore, the former champion is looking forward to get an additional defence trainer in his arsenal along with Hall of Famer trainer Freddie Roach, who is already
there.
