Kell Brook believes he is ready to fight Amir Khan – Boxing news
In a recent interview, Kell Brook said he can fight Amir Khan, however he is not yet ready to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. Kell Brook is scheduled to fight Matthew Hatton on March 17.
Kell Brook further said that he has wants to fight some of the biggest names in the industry. Khan is his British rival. Both British fighters are well recognized in their country and therefore Brook believes that a match between them can churn out great
revenue. Brook did not speak about Amir Khan until he was asked for it.
As soon as Khan’s name was mentioned, Brook remarked, “I'm ready for that fight this year. I could take on Amir Khan any time and I believe I'd beat him. He's just got to say: 'Come on, let's do it,' and it's on. Khan has fast hands and power but he can
be hurt. He can be stopped. We've set that before in his career. And timing is everything in boxing. Timing and accuracy beats speed every time. When I hit him hard and consistently, Khan is going down. So I'm a couple of years from being ready for Mayweather
but that would be a dream fight for me.”
As confident as he sounds, there are still a couple of hurdles in his way to reach the desired mark. Right now, Brook has to defeat Hatton in order to prove his mettle. If he is successful against Hatton then he might get a chance at fighting Khan next.
He has a number of opponents to face before he can even think of taking on the big guns like Mayweather and Pacquiao.
On his upcoming opponent Matthew, Kell said that Matthew is not looking forward to adding wins to his portfolio but it is more like if he is trying to prove something. He went on saying that probably Matthew’s arrogance comes from the fact that he is Ricky
Hatton’s brother.
Lastly, he said that Matthew wants to make his name in the industry and for that very reason he is very aggressive and dangerous to deal with.
