Kell Brook not afraid of facing Devon Alexander– Boxing News
Briton fighter Kell Brook holds no fear against fighting Devon Alexander in American, hometown of Devon. Brook has struck a deal with Devon to have a fight in January in the United States. Since Alexander has a strong base in his hometown, there will be
a lot of pressure on Brook. However, the Briton stands fearless to challenge Devon for the IBF welterweight champion in January.
Brook has been going towards the acme of success slowly and steadily. His title shot at Devon is something he believes he deserves.
“I've dreamt of this since I was 9; nothing's going to stop me,” said Brook. “Fighting for the belt in America is going to make it a lot more special.”
Many believe Brook is an underrated fighter, who should have gotten the title shot way earlier. However, the Briton believes slowly but surely he is at the mark and there is no stopping him now.
Brook’s manager Eddie Hearn struck the deal against Alexander for a fight on January 19.
“I could have had it my own way, in Sheffield for example, but to be honest I don't think he would have come over here. I've agreed to fight him in his own country. It's all going to be nice fun and games for me when I get in there and do what I'm going
to do - take him out,” said Brook.
It should be noted here that this fight is important for Brook. If he wins the title, he will be facing arch rival Amir Khan next.
Former WBA and IBF unified welterweight titlist Amir Khan has given his word to fight Brook if the latter wins a world title, and it seems like Brook is just inches away from Khan. His fight against Devon stands as the only obstacle in his way to face Khan.
If he wins, he will be on his way to face Khan for a title defence.
For now, Brook is focused on defeating Devon, believing that this is his shot to make an impact in the world of boxing. If he loses, probably he will not get another chance anytime soon.
