Kell Brook says Amir Khan making up excuses to avoid him – Boxing news
The former holder of the British welterweight title and the World Boxing Organisation’s Intercontinental title at the same weight Kell Brook reckons the current unified International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Association World Light Welterweight
Champion Amir Khan is avoiding him and making up excuses by saying he will not fight him because he is with the Matchroom.
The 25-year-old undefeated Sheffield’s prospect, Brook, who has won all of his 24 professional fights, with 16 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, told the media he has better speed than Khan, who is widely known as King Khan.
Khan avoids fighting any fighter related with the Matchroom sports since his win over Paul McCloskey back on Saturday April 16, 2011 at Men’s Arena.
Khan secured a Technical Knockout win over McCloskey, as the fight was stopped by the referee and the ringside doctor due to a cut above McCloskey’s left eye. However, Eddie Hearn was not happy with the circumstances as he quickly stepped in the ring and
started yelling at the ringside doctor. He even called him a disgrace in boxing.
Therefore, Khan does not want to fight any Matchroom boxer, as the Bolton’s finest thinks Eddie Hearn has no sportsman spirit.
Brook however insisted Khan is making excuses just to avoid the fight. He also claimed Khan cannot run away because he will set up a clash with him after becoming a world champion and then he will beat him.
While speaking on his inclusion, “I think timing beats speed all day long and I’m from the Ingle gym so I’ve seen every style there is. I’ve got Khan’s number and he knows it, that’s why he’s making up excuses like he’s not going to fight me because I’m
with Matchroom. But that fight’s going to happen and he’s going to get done in.”
Brook added, “It feels great to be a part of Matchroom Sport. You’ve got Darren Barker fighting for a world title, Carl Froch on top of his game, I’m coming through, Lee Purdy is British champ and Gavin
Rees in big European fights so this team’s growing.”
