Kelleher Mist to leap through the Bags/Sis 500 – Heat 1 at Monmore on 5th March
The first heat of the Grade A6 Bags/Sis 500 is to be staged at Monmore over 480 metres flat on Monday, 5th March. The initial heat of the race has to offer £150 to the winner among the lineup of six hounds participating today.
Kelleher Mist, Razldazl Billy’s four-year-old white and black daughter out of b***h Judicial Gift, broke into the 2012 season on 9th January and since then has ventured out five times. She has won twice, was placed three times and met a sixth
finishing in the second start of the season.
Kelleher Mist’s debut race, a Grade A7 480 metres flat race on 9th January had her entered as a 3/1 favourite on the field of six. She ended third after clocking the distance in 29.38 seconds while the race went in Redhot Rita’s favour. The runner
up turned out to be Tedo Bullet.
After encountering a miserable sixth position, Kelleher Mist stamped the next start right away.
She won a Grade A7 480 metres on 20th January at Monmore by reaching on the other end of the wire in 29.63 seconds. Kelleher Mist had to face fierce competition at the hands of the runner up and the third position holder of the race as the leading
trio was adrift from one another by a mere shoulder’s distance.
On 9th February, Kelleher Mist was the runner up in the Grade A7 Owners Bonus Series – Heat 2 was won by the 5/2 joint favourite of the race, Glenshane Conor who managed the track distance in 29.82 seconds.
Kelleher Mist was thrown back by 3 ¼ lengths and was able to clock the distance in 30.08 seconds.
The other joint favourite of the race, Undercover Thadg finished fifth.
Kelleher Mist captured the Owners Bonus Series Final on 13th February at Monmore over 480 metres. She defeated the 5/4 favourite of the race, Stallone Jack who missed the winners spot by a neck’s difference.
Her last attempt had her finishing second in the Grade A6 Bags Championship 2011 Winners Trophy on 23rd February over 480 metres. The race was won by The Last Light.
Today Kelleher Mist is up for the seventh starts of the season along with the chance of bagging the third victory of the new season.
