Kelly Pavlik and his trainer Jack Loew confident against Darryl Cunningham – Boxing news
Former World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organisation Middleweight champion and Ring champion Kelly Pavlik is very confident ahead of his homecoming fight against the middleweight contender Darryl Cunningham.
The 29-year-old pugilist from Youngstown, Pavlik, is set to face Darryl Cunningham of Detroit on August 6, 2011 at the Covelli Center in Youngstown, Ohio. This is the first time in nearly two years when Pavlik will be seen in action and the fight will be
shown live on Showtime.
Pavlik, who has won 37 of his 39 professional fights including 32 by the way of a knockout, told the media he is training very hard these days and hopefully he is going to be in the best shape of his life on the fight night.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Training is going very good right now. I’ve been hitting it hard; this is probably the last hard week. We’re going to finish up sparring and next week will be cruise-mode. It couldn’t be better than the way it’s
going right now. I’m feeling good.”
Pavlik’s trainer, Jack Loew, in the meanwhile also commented on his fighter. Loew stated he has full confidence in his fighter, as he believes his man will win on the fight night.
Cunningham has won 23 of his 25 professional fights including 10 by the way of a knockout and Loew knows he is skilled fighter.
Loew remarked whenever a professional faces another professional in the ring there is a danger of losing the fight but on the same note he said Pavlik has nothing to lose against Cunningham therefore he will be under no pressure.
Loew stated, “I have all the confidence in the world in Kelly. But like Kelly said, anytime you go in there with another professional fighter there’s always danger. He has everything to gain and nothing to lose so he’s going to go all out. This is an opportunity
for him to make a name for himself.”
Let’s see whether Pavlik can really shrug off the 36-year-old Darryl Cunningham in the ring or not.
