Kelly Walsh clinches Girls 400m freestyle title: 2011 Wyoming High School State Championships
Kelly Walsh put up an impressive performance to clinch the title in freestyle relay swimming finals at the 2011 Wyoming High School State Championships, in Gillette, Wyoming, on Monday, October 31. Kelly Walsh went on to win Girls 200m freestyle relay title,
while Campbell County notched Girls 400m freestyle relay crown. In addition, Campbell Country clinched Girls 200m medley relay title.
The squad of Kelly Walsh including Iliana jones, Emily Jensen, Larisa Jones and Julie Schmitt thrashed out Campbell County and Laramie by touching the finishing wall in a never wrecking time of 1 minute and 40.88 seconds to take Girls 200m freestyle relay
title over their rivals.
In the meantime, Campbell County’s team of Haley Hance, Raleah Cisneros, Carly Fuller and Kelsey Ochsner pocketed the silver medal in the respective race by hitting the finishing wall in an impressive mark of 1 minute and 41.59 seconds. The bronze medal
went to Laramie’s Jerrica Peterson, Heidi Hanekamp, Delta Burchi and Sarah Morgan in a time of 1 minute and 42.11 seconds.
In addition, the Girls 400m freestyle relay title was taken over by Campbell County’s team of Jade Ely, Haley Hance, Carly Fuller and Shaya Schaedler in a winning blot of 3 minutes and 37.87 seconds. KWH’s group of four swimmers including Emily Jensen, Julie
Schmitt, Larisa Jones and Iliana Jones earned silver medal in a time of 3 minutes and 41.40 seconds. Finally, EAS’s squad of junior Gracie Brown, Abby Urban, Maranda Warburton Smith and junior Jonna Brown settled for bronze title in a spot of 3 minutes and
42.51 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Girls 200m medley relay title was pocketed by Campbell County’s team of Shaya Schaedler, Jade Ely, Kelsey Ochsner and Raleah Cisneros in a winning time of 1 minute and 49.61 seconds. LAR’s group of four athletes, Sarah Morgan, Amy Nissen,
Heidi Hanekamp and Delta Burchi earned silver title in a time of 1 minute and 51.55 seconds. Last, but not the least, EAS’s junior Gracie Brown, Jonna Brown, Halley Jankovsky and Hayley Martin settled for bronze medal in a mark of 1 minute and 51.96 seconds.
