I had my nose pierced a long time ago but had to take it out because a keloid grew on it so i got the keloid burned off

but i wanted to get my nose pierced again

so do you think a keloid will grow on it again?

or that if i get it pierced with a needle the outcome will be different?

because the first time i got my nose pierced with a staple gun

by the way why do keloids appear?

  1. i'm not sure about your pericing question, but i get keloids, and my dermatologist said that it is scarring on the outside of your body, instead of the inside, and it will happen anytime you get a deep cut or anything like that.

  2. I highly doubt it was a keliod, usually cartilage piercings are prone to cartilage bumps which are called hypertrophic scarring. They appear if the piercing site is disturbed by constant touch or playing with the piercing, if the piercing was tugged on, if the nose was pierced w/ a gun or unprofessionally and if removal of jewelry real early during the healing process. They usually go away if taken care of w/ extra care by cleansing the area w/ warm sea salt compresses 2-3 times a day and by dabbing some tea tree oil on the bump, since the bump consist of scar tissue they usually take a while to subside and disppear so give it time. Good Luck.

P.S. the reason why you had complications w/ your recent piercing is because of it getting pierced by a gun which is never good, they shatter the cartilage which causes scar tissue to build up near the opening of the piercing. Get it repierced by a pro piercer who uses sterlized equippment and hollow needles.
