Kelsey Ochsner acquires Girls 100 yard backstroke gold – High School State Championships, Wyoming
Kelsey Ochsner of CAM acquired the title of Girls 100 yard backstroke at the 2012 4A High School State Championships in Gillette, Wyoming USA on Saturday, October 27.
Ochsner stayed in a prominent lead over her opponents throughout the backstroke discipline and with her alluring efforts, she cruised her way towards the finishing end for the title.
Her impeccable pace remained more than two body lengths ahead of her toughest competitor, as she tapped the wall for the crown with an effort of 57.37 seconds.
The gold medallist was chased by Gracie Brown of EAS, who was 2.50 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 59.87 seconds.
Third position of the race was secured by Larisa Jones of KWH, who stayed 0.29 seconds behind and settled on the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 00.16 seconds.
Jones was traced by Emily Spiegelberg of SHE, who was only 0.04 seconds away and made her way to the finishing end as fourth fastest swimmer with the timing of 1 minute and 00.20 seconds.
On the other hand, Iliana Jones of KWH occupied gold medal of the Girls 100 yard breaststroke. Jones spoiled the party of her opponents in the four-lap discipline as she clocked a time of 1 minute and 08.26 seconds for gold medal.
Her astonishing pace remained just 0.02 seconds faster from Jonna Brown of EAS, who followed her on the finishing blockade for silver medal by producing a time of 1 minute and 08.28 seconds.
Brown was traced by Annie Waldum of CAM, who was 0.19 seconds apart and completed the victory stand by finishing third with an effort of 1 minute and 08.47 seconds.
Fourth spot of the race was obtained by Gretchen Dougherty of SHE, who was almost four seconds behind and posted a time of 1 minute and 12.19 seconds.
In addition, Ochsner and Jones were contented with their top finishes in the 100 yard events and stressed that they would continue their hard work in order to achieve the same at superior levels of sport.
