Kemba Walker, NBA Lockout and DJ Augustin – NBA Update

The University of Connecticut Huskies standout guard Kemba Walker had a whole layup of the NBA off-season ready, when he was drafted by Charlotte Bobcats as the ninth overall pick in this year’s draft.
However, few days after his recruitment in NBA, the 21-year-old point guard witnessed the lockout and he along with many other rookies has since been deprived of any sort of contact with his new team, its training facilities, benefits
and its officials.
Kemba Walker was expecting to quickly learn things from the coaching staff and senior members of the team to make a successful transition from a college star to an NBA rookie; however the work stoppage has completely bulldozed
his preparations.
At the unveiling of a brand’s new basketball line on Wednesday, October 26, Walker discussed as to how difficult the lockout ordeal has been for him;
"It's been very tough, not being able to talk to your coaches and learn new things. Learning the offense and figuring out how we're going to play (together) and things like that. It's hard, because when the season starts we'll
have to rush through everything. But I'll be alright".
Lockout has been a menace for the new draftees. The cancellation of the rookie transition camps, training camps and the preseason games were followed by the suspension of the first two weeks of the regular season games earlier
this month and now things look set for further cancellation of games.
This has left the NBA rookies in the cold. They are neither the part of the players union nor are they are being afforded any benefit from their new teams in any way whatsoever. Desperate to keep himself tuned up for the challenge
that lies ahead, the young point guard is now leaning on the players in his new team and DJ Agustin is one man who has been of significant help to  Kemba Walker.
Augustin who found his niche under the supervision of new head coach Paul Silas in the latter half of last season is also a point guard and a good one at that. Kemba admitted that Augustin has been a real help.
“He's a guy who's already there and a guy who's been there a while. He's a point guard too, so I definitely lean on him to learn about the game."
