  1. Why don't they just go after Adam Dunn???  He could play first and he hits more HR's.  Those two have about the same average anyway.

  2. yea, this sounds like junk.

my guess is they will give up minor league talent.

why do we need a .245 BA?????

    Why not trade for Ichiro!

We need that + .300 BA.

That is a trade I can get behind

  3. if he approves of it.

  4. I don't know, but I never saw this trade coming.

  5. I would assume that he would split time between centerfield and DH...meaning playing time would be cut from Konerko and Thome....I don't really like the deal as a Sox fan.  Why do we need a .245 hitter with average power, that can't play defense much these days?  I would much rather have had them add a starting pitcher or another guy in the bullpen.  I think Kenny Williams is just bringing him in b/c of the name on the back of his jersey.

  6. they said he could play the outfield or possibly first base

  7. Good move

  8. This is a bad trade!!!!!!

First of all, Griffey is aging quickly and is coming up on 40. His numbers over the past. Since 2006, he has not been putting up the best numbers, like he should. I guess some people are living in the past with him. He is not the old Griffey! He is the old and declining Griffey! Currently, he is hitting .245! I don't want that on my team!

Another  point is, where does he play???

The outfield of Swisher, Dye, and Quentin is good! Even though Swish is struggling a bit, his attitude is great, and I really like him a a player! And Dye and Quentin are definatrely worth more than Griffey.

Konerko has a no-trade clause and if Griffey comes, and can't get into the outfield, first base may be an option. That means Konerko rides the bench, which I don't want to see happening.

But what if he's a DH? Does Thome move to first, and Konerko goes to the bench?

I just don't get this trade! The White Sox have been in first for I think 102 days without Griffey, so Kenny Williams decides to get a .245 hitter on the decline to help the cause to miss the playoffs!

Kenny Williams always likes to make trades right before the deadline, with no consideration for the team, just a tradition of his it seems. If the purpose of this trade is to bring fans into the park, I just don't get it! You're here to win games! Or maybe he just wants ESPN to give th eWHite Sox attention so he made this trade!

And Williams was almost on my good side! With Ramirez and Quentin, those were great moves! But Griffey??? C'mon!

This was not fun to wake up to!
