Ken Shamrock: I do not owe even a penny to UFC and Dana’s figure is totally bogus – UFC news
Ken Shamrock, who made UFC what it is now, recently bashed and vehemently denied all the allegations thrown on him by the promotion’s President Dana white and said that he does not owe any amount to UFC under any legal terms adding that the $60,000 mentioned
figure is totally bogus.
Both parties have recently engaged themselves in a series of verbal skirmishes and have alleged each other for one thing or another. Ken is famous for his stand over the pay factor that the fighters are not getting enough purses and the promotion, on the
other hand, is taking full advantage of its monopoly.
Dana and his team, on the other hand, have accused the legendary submission tactician as ‘a guy who owes them money’ and the ‘man who became world’s best all time mixed martial art brawler because of UFC’.
Ken recently in a detailed interview denied all the above allegations and said that it was Dana White who came to him almost begging to be a part of the promotion. Shamrock added that it was his feuds against Royce Gracie and Tito Ortiz that brought the
whole UFC roster to the limelight.
Shamrock while putting forth some statistics revealed that it is absurd and close to impossible that he can owe Dana $60,000 especially in a scenario where he made them almost 50-60 million dollars.
Ken, who was later on dubbed as ‘The world’s most dangerous man’, said that he just wants to tell the world that his account is clear from any kind of misappropriation adding that Dana always boasts that he did this and he did that...whereas the fact is
that UFC reached at the pinnacle by the coordination of many respectable names and not just Dana.
Shamrock explained that it was a collective effort, he being there standing against the greatest villain Tito Ortiz, the production staff who shot those whole bouts from different angles, the presence of men like Tito Ortiz and others, Ken said that it was
the crux of all those multiple efforts that made UFC what it is today.
Ken, the best submission specialist UFC has ever witnessed, said, “What I saw was me getting in there, building an organization, having a feud with Tito Ortiz to help build those numbers along with Dana White, along with the corporation and the company to
shoot those feuds and also to have Tito there, who was a great villain, to have somebody going against me, that's how we did those numbers, because we all got involved and did it, that is how it happened.”
Shamrock continued and said that he does not like Dana’s claim of doing everything by himself and be the reason behind the fame and fortune of UFC adding that nobody saw him in the ring doing a bout. Ken said that there were no numbers when Dana was there
alone.
Ken, is considered as the pioneer in mixed martial art and is looked up by all and sundry with great respect. He has been in a total 45 mixed martial art bouts and came out victorious in 28. The interesting aspect is he has collected 23 of his total wins
by submission.
