Kendell Burden, an aggressive player from New Zealand, showed her phenomenal class when she gave a severe lesson to her country-mate Brooke Mary Rose Manera in Girl’s Singles encounter at 2012 West Coast U19 on Saturday, June 23, in New Zealand.
The spirited Kendell, who was un-seeded in the championship, put up tremendous show of elevated badminton and stamped her superiority over Brooke in a sensational fashion.
The in-form Kendell was at her best while playing against her team-mate and managed to end up the fight in straight games with a staggering margin on the score board.
Kendell took the first game in a one-sided manner but she had to work a little hard in the second game to seal victory in two sets.
On the other hand, Brooke was completely helpless in the court as she could not do her best and also failed to tackle the aggression of her rival.
Brooke tried to play positive badminton in the second game but failed to escape a straight set defeat from the hands of her in-form opponent.
In the opening points of first game, Kendell showed her class when she grabbed an early lead without wasting any time and maintained her commanding position in the game.
Kendell was impressive in her tactical play as she manipulated all loopholes of Brooke by taking the bird early and set up a sensational lead until the end of first half.
After the interval, the in-form Kendell continued taming her rival without facing any interruption and bagged the game with a superb 21-9 margin on the score board.
In the second game, Brooke showed a little improvement in her shot selection and accuracy. She did not trail far behind her rival this time on the score board until the mid-game interval.
After the one-minute break, Kendell took over the charge and started to push her rival on back foot by executing powerful smashes on side lines of the court.
The wonderful aggression of Kendell assisted her to grab the second set with a five-point margin of 21-16.
Kendell emerged as the winner in this Girl’s Singles fight in straight games with an impressive margin of 21-9 and 21-16.
