Kenmore 19001 /screen blinking

Question

I have had & used almost every day-for at least 5 years- my Kenmore 19001 made by Janome for Sears -lately tho the screen has started "blinking" while the machine is stitching. I've been told that it could be a mother board( I've been told also that there are 2 mother boards an A board and a B board) ....the board alone I'm told is $500.00 before labor! YIKES Is all this a possibility or could there be something else going on? ANY help you can offer will be appreciated...thanks,Pat
