Question:

Kenmore HE2plus - F28 Error?

In April of 2007 my husband and I purchased a Kenmore HE2plus washer and matching dryer. 3 months later our dryer broke down and had to have the main computer replaced. Lucky for us it was within the 1 year manufacturer's warranty. It was with a lapse of judgment that we opted out of the extended warranty. I wish we would have gotten it because now my washer is stopping mid cycle and giving me an F28 error which apparently is something to do with the MCU. Does anyone know how I can fix this without spending more than I paid for the stupid thing!?

  1. F28 is a communication error.  Something is not talking to something else in your machine.  It could be the mcu, door switch or main board. You can go onto the sears website and look up the parts.  Write down the part numbers and call a local appliance parts dealer.  Most of the time, independent parts dealers will be cheaper the sears, and if you are nice they may give you some free advice.  Buyer beware on parts tho,  most places will not take back electronic parts.
