The Freezer works fine but the refrigerator is not. No where cool enough. What do I need to check?

I know the fan needs to be working but it seems to me it is as the freezer is working fine. Is there a second fan, I know the basics of refrigeration, but need some help with this specific model.

  1. Depending upon the model and age of the unit, it may have two circulation fans. It it only has one, it is located in the freezer unit and circulation puts it in the refrigerator side.  Check to see if the control is operating the pass-through correctly.  Also check the control settings (colder/warmer): they should be set approximately the same range. Make sure the items in the freezer side are not packed tightly as this will prevent circulation of the cold air.

  2. I would double check to make sure ice hasn't formed inside of the cooling vent; I've seen this happen on my old kenmore when the tempature setting is hire in the freezer than in the refrigerators.
