I have a 7 (?) year old dishwasher. It has done good work for a long time. Lately tho, it has started to emit a whining at the end of the pre-wash cycle. The old water seems to drain out but the fresh water does not come in. Thats when the whining starts. Last time I was able to get it going again by manually moving the dial ahead one notch.
Now today we ran the dishwasher and no problem. So the problem is intermittant, but i'll bet it gets progressively worse. Is it a timer problem??
Any ideas?
