Kenmore elite calypso washer & Eletric Dryer problems?

my washer is not washing my clothes completely no mater waht i do, it leaves an awful smell in the clothes even after i've run vinegar through it. when i put it on the spin cycle it rinses the clothes, and when its on the wash cycle it leaves the soap in the clothes.

my dryer does not stay on no mater what setting i put it on, it stays on for a few minutes the cuts off and "EI" shows up on the screen, its also not drying my clothes.

repairs will cost too much and so will a new washer & dryer does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

Check if your units are covered under warranty?

Do you have the users manual?

If not, try searching the manufacturer's websites for the users manual.

There is usually a "troubleshooting" guide in the back, which may or may not assist in solving the problem.

Another option, call a repairman and see if he offers free estimates.  While he's there, ask what the problem is, and regardless of whether you hire him, you then have an idea of the problem.  Use this information to decide the feasibility of a DIY solution.

that's the code for( the thermistor open ) change out the thermistor . look in the wiring diagram and fix it or call an appliances tech ...good luck

Washer - You may be using too much detergent or something may be clogging the drainage.

Dryer - That sounds like the motor is defective - there should be a error code paper hidden someplace, maybe in the control panel.

In the future, I recomment not buying anything with electronic controls, they are nothing but headaches.
