Kenmore freezer won't run my repairman said compressor is bad. how can i do this job?

  1. Unless you have the tools, equipment, and the knowledge, this is not something you can do. Its takes alot of schooling and training to know how to replace a compressor. The price of a compressor and labor will most likely cost as much as a new freezer. Your better off to get a new one. I wish I had better advice but I worked in the appliance industry for many years and know whats involved in that type of job. Its not something just anyone can tackle.


  2. By the time you buy the expensive tools and freon needed and convinced someone to sell you a compressor you could have bought a couple of new freezers.
