Helllo, I just found you and I am hoping you have an answer for me...I have been using my kenmore l900l ( comparable to Janome 9000 , Janome contracted to Sears to produce these for Sears) for a good while now and for the most part have enjoyed it, a workhorse! BUT, my computer crashed so the family bought me a new computer but it has VISTA on it and now the Scan N Sew box won't talk to the computer to transfer designs. The problem seems to be that Vista restricts COM ports 1-4 for its own use and the scan n sew can only talk on COM ports l-4. In other words my serial port is on com 6 and the scan n sew can't understand com 6. We've installed a port mapping program to temporarily resolve comport 6 to comport 1 and the scan n sew operates fine this way but the program is $l00.00 and of course I don't want to purchase this....do you know if there is a newer program for the scan n sew that is compatible to Vista? If not do you know of any tricks to modify the scan n sew software?
