Kenneth Mcpeek will look to keep Bizzy Caroline on a hot streak come the Grade 1 American Oaks
The three-year-old brown filly, Bizzy Caroline, is on a hot streak, as she comes off with three wins on the trot. The next assignment for the Kenneth McPeek trained filly is the $250,000 Grade 1 American Oaks at Hollywood Park race track on 16 July.
This year it will be the 10th edition of the American Oaks, a race which is run on turf with over 1 ¼ miles of distance.
The American Oaks is the most significant out of the five stakes run at the Hollywood Park in its spring/summer meet.
Bizzy Caroline, owned by Catesby W Clay has had a fantastic 2011, as she bagged 3 wins out of 4 starts this season, starting with the win at Keeneland race course in the Maiden Special Weight.
Among 10 other fillies, Bizzy Caroline produced her first maiden win of her career on 28 April, 2011.
On 27 May 2011, Bizzy Caroline was sent to run at Churchill Downs Allowance race, where she did not disappoint and kept her momentum rolling.
Among eight other three-year-old fillies, the daughter of Afleet Alex was sent off at 4 to1, to win the race.
Guided by jockey Manoel R. Cruz, Bizzy Caroline owned the field at Churchill Downs as she landed her second race in a row.
The build up to $138,125 Grade 3 Regret was completed and the filly was all geared up to take on a field of seven other three-year-old fillies at Churchill Downs on 18 June, 2011.
It was an easy drive for the pair, Manoel Cruz and Bizzy Caroline, as the two developed a good bond over a short period of time and more importantly the trainer Kenneth McPeek found a winning combination for his filly.
Bizzy Caroline responded to her rouse Manoel Cruz as they entered the final turn, racing on equal terms the jockey, M. Cruz, felt that he should urge his filly to take on the leader Excited.
Bizzy Caroline kept her head down and her neck stretched while entering in to the final furlong.
The filly showed what she is capable of as she blew past from third position to cross the wire and winning it by 1 /4 of a length.
That would be her third win out six life time starts, with earnings of $148,497, as the win boosted her worth which was before $83,070.
It was an easy race for Bizzy Caroline, but the true test of potential and talent will come when she will start in her next race, the $250,000 Grade 1 American Oaks, that will draw a tough line up of 12 three year old fillies on 16 July 2011 at Hollywood
Park race course.
