Kenneth To impresses in Men’s 100m IM semi-finals – EnergyAustralia SC Championships
Kenneth To of Trinity Grammar impressed in the semi-finals of Men’s 100m Individual Medley (IM) on fourth day of the 2012 EnergyAustralia Short Course Championships at Challenge Stadium in Perth on Saturday, September 15.
To continued his alarming pace on fourth day of the event as he now remain just one-step away from adding another title to his medal tally. With his commendable pace, he remained prominently away from his following swimmer and touched the wall for the title.
To demonstrated his immaculate efforts in the discipline as he remained one and a half body length ahead of his closest challenger and touched the wall with a wonderful timing of 52.32 seconds.
The top qualifying swimmer was chased by Tommaso D’Orsogna of West Coast, WA, who stayed 1.35 seconds apart and hit the wall with a nice timing of 53.67 seconds for second position.
D’Orsogna was followed by Sam Beinke of Lefevre Portside, who stayed almost one body length slower from his preceding swimmer and ended his race in a time of 54.53 seconds.
Fourth finest spot of the race was obtained by Justin James of Mackay, QLD, who stayed 0.14 seconds slower from his former finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 54.67 seconds.
James was traced by Tim Halliday of Sydney Uni, NSW, who was almost 0.80 seconds apart and clocked an effort of 55.46 seconds for fifth position.
Halliday was traced by Daniel Blackborrow of Melbourne VIC, who stayed 0.24 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing wall as sixth best swimmer with a timing of 55.70 seconds.
Seventh finest spot of the race was obtained by Tommy Sucipto of Leisurepark, who remained just 0.08 seconds apart and clocked an effort of 55.78 seconds.
The 17-year-old Sucipto was followed by Cameron Wong of Norwood, SA, who remained just 0.12 seconds behind and completed his race in eighth best place by submitting a time of 55.90 seconds.
In addition, To was extremely pleased with his top qualifying effort in the event and said that he would struggle hard to capture gold medal in the final round.
