Kenneth To secures Men’s 100m butterfly gold – EnergyAustralia SC Championships
Kenneth To of Trinity Grammar secured gold medal of the Men’s 100m butterfly on second day of the 2012 EnergyAustralia Short Course Championships at Challenge Stadium in Perth on Thursday, September 13.

His scintillating effort remained 1.09 seconds ahead of Grant Irvine of St Peters Western Swim Club, who followed him on the medal rostrum for silver medal by touching the wall with a timing of 51.63 seconds.
Irvine was followed by Joseph Carty of SOPAC, NSW, who remained 0.06 seconds slower from overpowering his preceding swimmer and hit the wall with an effort of 51.69 seconds for bronze medal.
The third position holder was chased by Christopher Wright of Southport Olympic Swimming Club, who remained 0.10 seconds away from his foregoing finisher and settled on the wall with an effort of 51.79 seconds.
Wright was chased by Ryan Steenkamp of West Coast, WA, who was 0.79 seconds behind and cruised his way to the finishing wall as fifth position holder by reporting a time of 52.58 seconds.
The 19-year-old Steenkamp was trailed by Mitchell Patterson of Cranbrook, who suffered a loss of just 0.05 seconds from his former finisher and secured sixth position of the event by posting a time of 52.63 seconds
Patterson remained just 0.02 seconds faster from his following swimmer, Phil Butcher of Unattached, VIC, who made his way to the finishing end as seventh fastest finisher by reporting a time of 52.65 seconds.
Eighth position of the event was secured by Sam McConnell of Sydney Uni, NSW, who stayed 0.07 seconds apart and hit the wall with a timing of 52.72 seconds.
To was extremely pleased with his gruelling form in the event and stated that he would keep working hard and try to achieve the same at superior levels of sport.
