Kenny Anderson vs. George Groves: A serious clash to settle old score – Boxing news
Kenny Anderson is serious and is all set to take on his archrival George Groves, the reigning British and Commonwealth super middleweight gold owner.
The bout is scheduled to take place in Wembley Arena, London on March 16, 2012.
The Friday night event is being considered as a serious clash between two men who want a full stop in their controversy and who want to determine who is superior over whom. The scenario becomes graver when we realise the fact that Kenny, the Scottish orthodox
brawler has lost his career’s only bout by the powerful punches of Groves and therefore he has nothing on his mind except revenge, a final blow to Groves to tell him that he is the best.
The 12,500 plus spectators will witness rage on one side of the ring. Kenny is a talented young boxer and he has won all the bouts he has been into accept the one he lost to Groves by being knocked out in the sixth round. Kenny is a bit experienced and aged
than the young 23-year-old Groves.
George nicknamed as the Saint has stood against 14 pugilists and came out victorious in all of them. His boxing capability and punching strength is evident from the fact that he collected 11 wins by knock outs and Kenny is one of them. The Saint in his short
career has collected two major championships, the British and the Commonwealth Super middleweight titles.
On the other hand, we have Kenny Anderson, the Britain’s number eight and the world’s 65th super middleweight boxer. Kenny has thrown himself in a total 16 bouts and he has lost just one, the knockout by George Groves. It is this reason why Kenny will try
his level best to equalise the score and snatch the two titles off the young lad’s waist to humiliate him.
Groves is confident but he needs to be careful since Kenny is powerful he also has collected most of his wins by knockouts, to be specific a total 11. Kenny will try his level best to silent the critics who are denoting the Briton George as the number one
contender for the world title.
While recalling the sour memories of the previous MEN Arena Manchester clash Kenny said, “I remember the first fight very clearly. Everyone saw it, everyone knows what happened, but that's done now. I have improved. People might think he is destined to beat
me but that will not happen at all. He added that "This is going to work out for me. I am going to smash him. I am not exactly known for my back-foot style or anything like that, so it will be a knockout. I think he will get smashed pretty early on.”
The bout in Wembley Arena will definitely decide that who will be the number one contender for the world super middleweight title. George needs to concentrate and replicate his previous performances since he has a lot of aspects at stake.
On the other hand, Anderson needs to put everything in this game and should show extra resilience to conquer his former rival and the two belts.
